What Do I Need To Get A Nigerian Passport

 

The international passport is issued to adults of 18 years and over.

Below are a list of the requirements for a Nigerian International Passport

1-Completed passport application form

2-Two recent passport-size photographs

3-Proof of payment

4-Letter of ID from local government/ state of origin (valid staff ID card attached)

5-Birth certificate

6-Completed Guarantor’s form (with photocopy of data page of Guarantor’s Nigerian e-passport and one passport-size photograph of the Guarantor)

7-Marriage certificate (if applicable)

8-Name change affidavit (if applicable)

Requirements For Minors (Below 18 Years of Age):

1-Completed passport application form

2- One passport-size photograph (signed on reverse side by consenting parent/ Parents.

3- Birth certificate

4- Evidence of Nigerian citizenship of parent/s

5- Letter of consent from both parents (valid court order if one parent is unavailable)

6- Proof of payment

For an adopted child a Court Order and Letter of approval from State Ministry of Women and Child Development is required.

How To Apply For Nigerian Passport

Applying for Nigerian International Passport can be done either online or off line. However we strongly recommend the online method rather than employing the services of an agent.

Online Application:

1- Visit the Nigerian Immigration Services portal

2- Select passport type

3- Select processing country

4- Complete application form

5- Upload scanned copies of required documents

6- Select preferred payment method (payment can be made with Visa cards)

7- Click on “Submit” Once you’ve completed the payment

8- You will be issued an Application ID and Reference number

9- Print out Guarantor’s form and have it certified

Submit completed application form with additional required documents in person at the designated passport office for photographs and biometrics to be taken

How Much Does A Nigerian Passport Cost

The cost of a Nigerian international Passport Varies depending on the type you desire. The new 64 Page Passport goes for  ‎₦70,000.00 and is valid for 10 Years and ₦35,000 for the one with 5 years validity period, While the 32 pages Passport goes for ₦25,000.00 for a 5 years validity period.

How Long Does It Take To Get A Nigerian Passport

On average it takes 48 hours to about a month to process it after your biometric data has been taken. In some cases, so its recommended that you start your Passport application on time if you have scheduled a trip.
